Starving

I have a friend who won't drink his water
and you know he can't live without it.
He thinks there are chips in the glass -
and we put them there.

Some days, I know what he's thinking,
but I'm afraid to tell him -
cause his thoughts scare me just a little.
Other days, his world is a mystery
I like it better that way.

Letting me in just a little,
was a never a problem for him.
It was just when I begged for more,
that he pulled out of my reach,
refusing my grasp, my touch, my love.

I have a friend who won't eat his meals,
and you know he can't live without them.
He thinks there are poisons in the food -
and we put them there.

Intelligent, my God you know he's far better
than any other being here who tries to act inspirational.
He just is.
My comrades, you've got to accept that.

He claims they're all afraid of him,
I can't understand why, but know it must be true.
Cause no one has the courage to hold his hand...
and, understand, he won't let me.

I have a friend who won't drink his water,
and you know he can't live without it.
He sees all these chips in the glass -
and you know we put them there.
